Mould can be external (north-facing walls) or internal (kitchens, bathrooms, damp environments). It appears on walls as dark/black or greenish patches. Mould spreads rapidly on walls and produces large quantities of spores, therefore prompt intervention is required to prevent them contaminating other parts of the walls, spreading to increasingly wide areas and causing decay. Apart from looking bad, mould is also a health problem as the spores create an environment which is harmful to human health.
